Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ViConnects collects, uses, protects and shares information when you use our marketplace, services, communication, business and payment features on the website or Android app.

Who is responsible

ViConnects is operated by IWACUSOFT GROUP. For privacy questions, account support or requests about your information, contact iwacusoft@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Account and profileName, phone number, account PIN in protected hashed form, area, profile photo, shop or service details and contact preferences.

User contentListings, product and service photos or short videos, descriptions, prices, messages, reviews, reports, live-sale content and other information you choose to publish.

LocationApproximate or precise location, nearby area and saved buying-area preference when you allow location access or choose an area manually.

TransactionsOrder, invoice, payment status, transaction reference, Mobile Money phone number, escrow, refund and merchant-balance records. We do not receive your Mobile Money PIN.

Device and usageDevice or session identifiers, push notification token, app version, IP address, browser or device details, crash or diagnostic logs and feature interactions.

AI inputsText, selected images and relevant marketplace context that you send to Vi AI to generate a draft, recommendation, reply or other requested output.

How we use information

Create and protect accounts, restore sessions and prevent unauthorized access.
Publish listings and profiles, show nearby products or services and connect buyers with sellers or service providers.
Upload, encode, store and deliver short product, service or shop videos that you intentionally select for a listing.
Deliver chats, notifications, orders, invoices, customer requests and marketplace support.
Process payments for eligible physical goods or services, confirm payment status, protect transactions, support refunds and keep legally required financial records.
Generate user-requested Vi AI drafts and assistance, improve relevance, detect abuse and let users report an AI response.
Secure, debug and improve ViConnects; enforce our Terms; investigate fraud, harmful content and reports.
Meet legal, regulatory, accounting, tax and dispute-resolution obligations.

Permissions and your choices

Location, camera or photo access, notifications and microphone access are requested only when a related feature needs them. You can deny or later change these permissions in your device settings. You can also select a buying area manually. Public listing and profile information may be visible to other users; private account credentials are not published.

When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We share only what is necessary:

With other users when you publish a profile or listing, start a chat, place an order, provide a review or otherwise choose to interact.
With payment providers, including MTN Mobile Money, to initiate and confirm an eligible payment. A transaction amount, reference and payer phone may be sent to the provider.
With Google Firebase for push notifications and device identifiers; OpenAI for inputs you intentionally submit to a Vi AI feature; MTN Mobile Money for eligible physical-goods or real-world-service payment data; Cloudflare Stream for storage, encoding and delivery of short videos you choose to upload; and our hosting provider for secure application hosting and backups.
With authorities or professional advisers when required by law, necessary to protect rights and safety, prevent fraud or resolve a dispute.
As part of a business reorganization, only with safeguards and notice where the law requires it.

Public listing and profile recipients are visitors and other ViConnects users. Chat content is shared with the participants you choose, while reports may be reviewed by authorized ViConnects moderators or support staff.

Retention and deletion

We keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above. Chats and some temporary requests may expire automatically. Unfinished short-video uploads expire and are removed; a published video is retained while it remains associated with its listing, unless you remove it earlier. Deleting a video, its listing or the related account queues removal from Cloudflare Stream, with safe retry if the provider is temporarily unavailable.

When you delete your account, public profile information, listings, uploaded photos and videos, ordinary messages, preferences and other account-linked content are deleted or anonymized. Some transaction, invoice, fraud-prevention, moderation and audit records may be retained when required for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes; direct contact details are removed or replaced where feasible.

Delete an account inside ViConnects from Account → Tools → Delete account, or use the public account deletion page. The request requires sign-in and confirmation.

Security and international processing

We use HTTPS in transit, access controls, protected sessions, credential hashing, data minimization and operational monitoring. No system is completely risk-free, so protect your phone and PIN and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Some service providers may process information outside Rwanda under contractual or legal safeguards.

Children, AI and safety

ViConnects is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Vi AI is a commerce and general productivity assistant, not a medical or health service. It does not diagnose, prescribe or provide treatment instructions. Users should review AI-generated content before using or publishing it and can report an unsafe or incorrect output.

Your rights and policy updates

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, export, object to or delete personal information. Contact iwacusoft@gmail.com; we may need to verify the account before responding. We may update this policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. A new effective date will appear here, and material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way.
